EMBRACE ONE ANOTHER
It is the goal of Oak City Church to provide environments for people to embrace one another in love and community in this age of limited interaction and a desire for authentic community. Authentic mission focused communities that meet around varying interest and stages of life will be the life blood of Oak City.
“Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart”( Acts 2:46 NASB)
It is in these mission focused groups that people can get close enough to know each other in deeper meaningful ways expressing the love of God one for another as we grow as disciples. We believe that we were not made to live in isolation and a vital part of being built up is to do it in community while discovering what your life purpose is and what impact you will have.
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35 NASB)
CONNECT GROUPS
God designed us for community. Whether you feel like a “people-person” or not, we all need each other. That’s why we have connect groups, to find community that has the potential to change our lives. Just like most things, you won’t know until you try. We have groups scattered all throughout our community waiting for you!
-
Expect a call or some form of connection from the group facilitator to introduce themselves to you to answer questions or concerns you may have in regarding to attending.
-
You don’t need to have it all together to lead a Connect Group—you just have to be willing to let God use you as you take your next step.
Leading a Connect Group is about cultivating an environment for people a place to connect. We believe people grow in their walk with God as they do life with others who are heading in the same direction. As a Connect Group Leader, you get to play an important role in that process. We will provide you with resources and training to help make your group a success.
